PADI Open Water & Drysuit Diver
Prerequisites - Ability to Swim
The PADI Open Water course is the worlds most widely recognised diving course and Orkney is a great place to take it! This course introduces you to the underwater world and helps you develop the key skills to safely enjoy diving. We do all this whilst exploring the Blockship wrecks of WW1 and WW2 at the Churchill Barriers, what a combination
This is a 4 day course which starts off shallow, with 2 days spent in shallow (confined) water working on fundamental dive skills such as buoyancy control and equipment use. Once we have done this we move into open water where we further develop your ability and comfort underwater all whilst diving on the British Blockships sunk by the Royal Navy during the World Wars.
Here at Kraken Technical Diving you will learn to dive for the whole course in the sea in drysuits, which means you will leave us as a fully certified PADI Open Water Diver AND PADI Drysuit Diver! This opens up some amazing cold water dives sites around the world!
Please note that enrolling on a course does not guarantee certification. Should you require extra time in the water or classroom in order to demonstrate mastery we will make every possible accommodation for you to be successful in your course.
For everyone wishing to enrol in a PADI course please read the Medical Statement linked below and if you answer 'yes' to any question please consult your local GP to ensure you are fit to dive.
